Main objective of this report
The objective of this report is to mix Finance data (costs) with HR data (headcounts / FTE) with a transversal view of the Group.
BSA means Business support activity and it is a way to measure where as a Solvay employee we create value.
Ex: An assistant linked to the Finance director is considered as a job family : support but she is the BSA Finance.
Starting January 2020, only 3 BSA are maintained in the system:
BSA Finance.
BSA HR.
BSA Purchasing.
During the second quarter of 2020 we will add 2 other BSAs:
BSA industrial (Scope under definition).
BSA R&I (Scope under definition).
Timing for production
BSA reporting will be published quarterly with a hard close @ M+2.
Tool used in this report
Finance:
BSA reporting uses BW - Fixed costs query to be able to extract GBUs / CBS WW for finance data.
HR:
BSA reporting use BW – HR query to extract headcounts / FTE
Dashboard tool:
During the first quarter of the year we will implement this report in Qlik.

A report is published every month by the reporting platform to follow-up BSA costs mixing HR (FTE) and finance data (costs).

- All the people from CBS INDUS Function.
- All the people from the Functional Area Industrial: this is an HR classification based on the Job Family. The Job Families linked the FA Industrial are: Production, Maintenance, Quality management and quality control, HSE, Engineering & Construction, Technology, Industrial management, Manufacturing excellence.

Assignement of a cost center to a BSA
A cost center is assigned to a unique BSA => One cost center = One single BSA.
All cost centers are assigned to a group (level 4) of the ZCBS hierarchy and some groups (level 4) of the ZCBS hierarchy are assigned to a BSA through another hierarchy ZCBS_BSA. (For instance the cost center 2295-4320 Function HR is included in the group ZCHRFUN1 of the ZCBS hierarchy that is itself included in the group BSA_HR of the ZCBS_BSA hierarchy. Then the cost center 2295-4320 is assigned to the BSA Human Resources.)
Where to find the ZCBS_BSA hierarchy ?
File : A file is available in gdrive here (be careful it may not the very last version, it is always better to look at the data directly in SAP or BW)
- In SAP
Run the transaction KSH3 - Display cost center hierarchy in WP1 with the controlling area Z013, and enter ZCBS_BSA.
- In BW : Use the report FC - Cost centers master data to get an updated list of cost centers assigned to each BSA

will be used as a unique key between Finance database and HR database.How to determine BSA?

The way to determine how each headcount is linked to BSA will be to choose a cost center linked to the right BSA.
BSA reporting is based on the node-4 (4 Sub-function) of the ZCBS Hierarchy. It is the lowest level of this hierarchy and all cost centers in the Group are maintained centrally in this hierarchy.
To standardize and automate as much as possible BSA reporting we have created a ZBSA hierarchy which is a copy of the ZCBS hierarchy with only selected nodes useful for BSA reporting.
This means that if a cost center is linked to the right node in the ZCBS hierarchy it will be reflected properly in the ZBSA hierarchy and at the end in the BSA reporting.

How to display a hierarchy (ZCBS or ZBSA) in the system?
- In SAP
Run KSH3 - Display cost center hierarchy.
Type ZCBS or ZBSA depending on the hierarchy you want to see.
This transaction is useful to check where a cost center is linked in the hierarchy.
Needto improve the accuracy of the BSA reporting?
- Headcount update
If the headcount is linked to a wrong cost center you can update this cost center by using a freshdesk ticket -->Go to Freshdesk / HR Request / System updates / eWS NGA.
- Cost center update
If your cost center is linked to a wrong node in the ZCBS hierarchy, you can update it by submitting a workflow through PF1 .
