General Description

 Exchange Rates:
  • WP1 - For each month, we are taking average monthly rate which is aligned with BI4.
    Example: When looking at data of current month (say August), the exchange rate used is the July average month rate and for past months, the exchange rate used will be the selected month's average rate. 
  • PF1 - for previous years', the full year's average rate is applied to the corresponding full year data from document currency to Euro and from document currency to USD.
    Current year, the conversion is based on the year to date average rate at (M-1) and applied to all months in current year including current month's data. (Please take special note on Example 1 & 2)
    *Example 1 (month): In current month (say August), the sales result in current year have applied the year to date exchange rate as of end July. Due to this, there will be slight differences when comparing the result in Analytics dashboard against BW report.
    *Example 2 (Quarter): Taking August as current month, and when selecting Q2 (April to June), the sales results applied the same exchange rate mechanism, the exchange rate taken in Analytics dashboard will be year to date exchange as of end July where in BW, the year to date exchange rate is as of end June, which again generates slight differences when comparing the two reports.

-The CRM Analytics Dashboard will convert data using the “CAR3 Monthly Average Exchange Rate”.
The monthly average rate has been requested by Group Controlling, Finance directors, and has been validated by the CRM Champions. The main interest is to be more business oriented, with a monthly rate being well known by sales people. 
This new method more accurately reflects the fluctuation of exchange rates month over month and the impact on selling prices in euros and on business performance.
Before the end of the current month, the rate is CAR3 M-1.
All the data coming from the P&L query (BW_QRY_MVCOPA01_0004) are moving to CAR 3 rate:
  • Revenue & Margin in Sales performance
  • Invoiced in Orderbook
-For any Sales Force related data (Opportunities, Quality):
The exchange rate on this data is uploaded once per year from Budget department and is a unique rate for the full year. This is provided each year in November
