Add dimensions to rows and columns

There are 3 ways to add rows/columns into the table :

  1. Click on

  2. Go to the Analysis Tab
  3. Select the wanted dimension and right click on it
  4. Select Add to Rows or Add to Columns

  2. Drag & drop the dimension from the right panel directly into the cross table and drop it where you want to add it. A red line shows where it will be added.

Remove dimension from rows and columns

3 ways to remove rows/columns into the table :

  • In the Analysis window, right click on the dimension and select Remove.

  • Drag and drop from the "Rows" or "Columns" panels to the left panel.

crosstable
  • crosstab to the Analysis window

Add or remove measures (key figures) 

To do this, you can't just drag and drop like dealing with a dimension, you need to right  

Right click on Measures and then "Filter by member".

Swap/Replace a dimension by another

Solution 1: Select
  1. Select the Dimension in the Display Panel, drag and drop to the column you need to switch. 
Solution 2: Select
  1. Select the dimension in the crosstab, drag and drop to the dimension you need to switch

Change order of dimensions

There are 3 ways to change orders of dimensions:

Solution 1: Select the Dimension in the Display Panel, drag and drop before the dimension you need to change.

Solution 2: Select the Dimension, drag and drop before the column you need to change.

Solution 3: Right click on the Dimension in the display panel, select "Move In front of" and select the second dimension.

Change order of key figures

On some queries, we can't change the order, for example, the training query "Resort Booking Evolution" on PQ1.

But on some other queries, like "Shipment costs analysis new(core query)", we can, in the same way as changing order of dimensions.

by dragging and dropping keys figures you are able to change their positions

But we don't know where this is configurated so far.



Display Attributes ("Master data")

Some BW dimensions have "Attributes" that can be displayed.

The "Attributes" basically correspond to "Master data" in SAP ERP.

 

To display attributes

:From

from available field in Design Panel

  1. Expand the Dimension and Attribute Node
  2. Drag and drop Attribute to the Row. Use
[CTRL]

There are some difference between dimensions and attributes :

  • You cannot display an attribute without displayed the attached dimension
  • You cannot filter on the attributes values
  • You cannot sort by attribute

Add a customized key figure by adding a calculation

In Design panel / Analysis tab, select on a measure, right click, then select "Add Advanced Calculation".

The New Calculation dialog appears.

Enter a name for the new calculation. This will also be the name for the new measure.

Enter a formula for the new measure in the Calculation area.

  • With Insert Member, you can select the measures of the data source as operands.
  • With Insert Function, you can select the operator for the calculation. The following functions are selectable:

The new calculated measure is added to the crosstab and the design panel.

You can edit or delete the new measure.
