Overview

This document describes the procedure for creating a new space in Solvay ONE.

It concerns: 

  • The Yellow folders (Content) and Pink folders (Pages) creation
  • The Author, Tag and Dynamic navigation (ie. Solvay ONE main menu) keywords

After having achieved this, the following sub-step-by-steps have to be done:

Step-by-step guide

1. AODocs Library Request

  1. Create a request for AODocs library for Solvay One for this new Space

  2. For this, you need to create a FRESHDESK ticket to CGI-L1-NONSAP mentioning exactly where you would like the support team to create the specified Space folder.

    Root folder for your reference -
    ONE - Worldwide Presence

 

Mention in the mail - exactly where to create the new Space AODocs.

2. Yellow Folder

  1. Create a yellow folder under SW C1 Master-en > Building Blocks > Component > 1 ONE > xxx
2. Enter the name of the Space. 

3. Copy the sample structure from SW C1 Master-en > Building Blocks > Component > 1 ONE > zSample structure.

Paste into the newly created yellow folder.

 

3. Category (Tags)

  1. Create a keyword under SW C0 Root > Categories and Keywords > Tags > xxx
 

2. Enter the Value field (something that contributor sees when he select this keyword).

Enter the Description field (this field can be localized and translated into different language).

Enter the Key field (this field is reserved for technical use and naming convention is mandatory).

3. Save the keyword. 

 

4. Category (Author)

  1. Create a keyword under SW S1 Definition > Categories and Keywords > Author > xxx
 

2. Enter the Value field (something that contributor sees when he select this keyword).

Enter the Description field (this field can be localized and translated into different language. This field is used as display on the website).

Enter the Key field (this field is reserved for technical use and naming convention is mandatory).

 

Exceptional case for Spaces under SBS, author can be "SBS". So there will be no "Follow" feature available. (to be validated)

 

 

5. Editorial Component

  1. Go to the SW C1 Master-en > Building Blocks > Component > 1 ONE > xxx > 1 Editorial
 

2. Create the xxx Home component.

 

Title: xxx Home

 

Pre-tag in the field Tags:

  • tag of the space (find corresponding). eg: Communications

 

Pre-tag in the field Author:

  • tag of the space (find corresponding). eg: Communications

 

Save and close on editorial component.

 

 

6. Banner

  1. Go to the SW C1 Master-en > Building Blocks > Component > 1 ONE > xxx > 1 Banner
 

2. Create the xxx banner component.

Save and close on the banner component.

 

 

 

7. Space menu

  1. Go to the SW C1 Master-en > Building Blocks > Component > 1 ONE > xxx
 

2. Create the xxx space menu component.

Hide in Live: Check yes (the key user will uncheck it once the space ready to be published live)

   Link: SW C1 Master-en > Building Blocks > Component > 1 ONE > xxx > 1 Editorial

Level: 1


Save and close on the banner component.

 

7. Category (Dynamic Navigation)

  1. Create a keyword under SW W1 ONE-master > Categories and Keywords > Dynamic navigation > homepage > xx

2. Enter the Value field (something that contributor sees when he select this keyword).

Enter the Description field (this field can be localized and translated into different language. This field is used as display on the website).

Enter the Key field (this field is reserved for technical use and naming convention is mandatory).

3. By default, in the Metadata Schema field, the Navigation Keyword Metadata is attached.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

  • Section title: Enter value if you want to override the default title of the main component of the index.html page in the structure group
  • Priority: Enter a number (eg: 100, 1000..) to make the ordering of the sibling sections
  • Page to link: Link a component where you want it to arrive

 

 

 

  • System folder: Check yes if it is a system folder (will not be displayed on the website)
  • Hide Folder in Live: Check yes (the key user will uncheck it once the space ready to be published live)

 

  • Cascading Style Sheet: Attach a CSS file (technical use, css will be applied within this section)
  • Javascript: Attach a Javascript file (technical use, js will be applied within this section)

 

  • Additional modules:
    • Attach space menu component (space menu will be applied within this section)
    • Attach banner component (banner will be applied within this section)
  • Tags: Attach the corresponding tag created in section 2. Category (Tags). Can have multiple tags
  • Author: Attach the corresponding tag created in section 3. Category (Author).

4. Save the keyword. 

 

8. Structure Group

  1. Create a structure group under SW W1 ONE-master > Root > xxx

2. In the Metadata Schema, associate the "Dynamic Navigation Structure Group Metadata".

Select the keyword of the Dynamic navigation.

This actually makes a link of the main navigation (in the category Dynamic navigation) to the structure group that contains all the pages.

 

 

 

 

For the creation of a new Space, you first need to know in which entity it belongs to (either within a GBU, a Function or a Sub-entity).

  • See naming conventions
  • Can't see the space icon in the navigation?

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

For the new keywword, you first need to know in which entity it belongs to (either within a GBU, a Function or a Sub-entity).

Create the new keyword of the space within the parent GBU/Function/Sub-entity.

The naming convention for Directory:

  • always in small letters
  • if more than a word, use a "-"
