Taiwan Styrene Monomer Corporation (TSMC) restarted its 180,000 tonne/year Styrene monomer (SM) unit at Linyuan in Kaohsiung on 9 September, a company source said on Monday.

The operating rate of the unit is likely to increase in these few days, the source added.

The plant was shut down on 25 August for scheduled maintenance, according to the source.

The shutdown had little impact on the SM spot market, one market source said.
