Nippon Shokubai Indonesia plans to restart its crude acrylic acid (AA) and acrylate esters units at Cilegon in West Java as scheduled after maintenance work is completed, a company source said on Wednesday. “We will restart the units by next week,” the source added.
The 60,000 tonne/year crude AA plant and the 100,000 tonne/year acrylate esters unit are still undergoing maintenance, but it will be completed in time for the restart, according to the company source.
Nippon Shokubai took both units off line in early June for scheduled maintenance.
As a result of the plant shutdowns, the producer had limited inventories to offer in the spot market, the source said, but added that fresh offers are expected to emerge by mid-July.
