Asahi Kasei has shut an acrylonitrile (ACN) plant permanently.

A Polymerupdate source in Japan informed that the plant was idled as part of the company’s restructuring exercise.

Weak demand fundamentals and erosion in profit margins also compelled the company to take the closure decision.

Located in Kawasaki, Japan, the plant has a production capacity of 150,000 mt/year.
