US butadiene (BD) production in Q1 2014 declined by 11% compared to a year ago, while inventories fell by 44%, according to data released on Wednesday by the American Fuel and Petroleum Manufacturers (AFPM).
Compared to Q4 2013, production in Q1 2014 was down by 9.8%, and inventories fell by 5.5%.
AFPM's quarterly data is based on voluntary reports.
Major BD producers in the US include ExxonMobil, LyondellBasell, Shell Chemical and TPC Group.
