The Petrochemical Corporation of Singapore (PCS) is expected to commission and commence a test run of its new 100,000 tonne/year butadiene (BD) extraction unit in the first half of May, market sources said on Friday.
It is not clear when the new BD unit will start commercial production as it will depend on the result of the test trial, market sources said.
The new 100,000 tonne/year BD unit is located at Jurong Island, Singapore, where its existing 60,000 tonne/year BD unit is also located.
The company will have a total of 160,000 tonnes/year BD capacity after the startup.
