Japan's Asahi Kasei is expected to shut down its
200,000 tonne/year acrylonitrile (ACN) plant at Mizushima next month for scheduled maintenance, a company source said on Friday.
“The plant will be shut around mid-February and the shutdown will last around 50 days,” the source said.
Currently, the plant is running at around 80% of capacity, according to the source.
In Kawasaki, the company has a 150,000 tonne/year ACN plant that is currently operating at below 70% of capacity, the source said.
