Japanese chemical producer Nippon Shokubai expects to restart commercial production in January 2014 at its fire-hit 160,000 tonne/year acrylic acid (AA) plant in Himeji, Japan, a company spokesperson said on Wednesday.
The government has lifted the suspension order on the last two remaining facilities within the AA plant, the company said in a statement.
When the two facilities come on line, all of Nippon Shokubai's 168 facilities at Himeji, which were temporarily shut after the blast in October 2012, will have fully restarted, the company said.
