The GBU Specialty Polymers decided to embed in one single platform all industrialization processes formerly managed  according to product line/site specific processes and various IT tools. The new platform is expected to include the following processes:

The key goal is to harmonize, improve and consolidate the three processes through the IT enabler relying on a unified User Management System. It is also requested to orchestrate the above processes altogether and properly transfer data across each other.

The Platform is required to be Export Control compliant for EAR/Dual Use regulations as it contains relevant information about product composition.

• Goals & Expectations

SpP team is looking at this Digital transformation as an opportunity to align & optimize the way of working across the GBU. At the same time this is an opportunity to improve data sharing in a secure & seamless way across the relevant GBU IT systems (SAP, SFDC, etc.).

The key goals are the following:

• Align the User Interface (UI hereafter) Design across ARMS, FORMULATIONS SPECIFICATIONS, BLOOM and PXM
• Consolidate ARMS process after Pilot validation
• Extend FORMULATIONS to resins to cover the entire product portfolio of finished goods of the GBU
• Setup PXM (Experimental Material DB) as a “replica” of FORMULATIONS+SPECIFICATIONS with more flexibility on ingredient selection vs. the original process and without workflow to route the process.
• Consolidate BLOOM for Compounding integrating it with either FORMULATIONS to retrieve compound composition and SPECIFICATIONS to get the compound QC inspection plan and simplify the inputs vs. the current solution in place (data from SAP).
• Design and implement a global, simple and lean process to submit SDS requests to RAPS teams across the GBU Resins and compounds are expected to be supported by dedicated request forms.

The key expectations are:

• Simplify & harmonize the way of working across the GBU
• Establish the official approval processes and related repositories for  
• Raw Materials used for Finished Goods, 
• Formulation Masters and related accepted substitutions for Finished Goods
• Finished Goods Specifications
• Improve compliance and safety management for Product Stewardship consolidating repositories and harmonizing SDS request processes
• Consolidate Trade Compliance about the entire value chain form ingredients down to Finished goods, including experimental samples
• Provide “read-only” interfaces with ARMS, SAP, Sinequa and SFDC to limit/avoid data redundancy and duplications
