2. Add the following Labels

    • Scope of applicability: ww, country_accounting 

    • Country or group of countries (if applicable): belux, china, france, italy, lam, nam, uk_ie, bulgaria, dach, netherlands, iberia, poland, latvia, australia, india, japan, south_korea, thailand, singapore

    • Unit and Domain according to the List of labels to be used in the Finance Service Line space

      • E.g. 1: WW Operation in Financial Accounting under domain "Central Finance Processes & Compliance":
        • Labels to be used: ww, financial_accounting, central_fin_proc_compliance

      • E.g. 2: France Operation in Financial Accounting:
        • Labels to be used: country_accounting, france, financial_accounting
          (for country operations, the Domain is always country_accounting)


3. Fill in all fields as described above

 4. Once the description of the operation is completed, ensure it is approved and published by launching the SBS-Finance approval workflow

1.1. Objective of this Operation

This procedure explains the carry out of the update and upload the Foreign Currencies for Mexico Companies using the information available in the Banco de México.

1.2. Scope

This procedure applies to Mexico Companies in PF1 and WP1 ERP.

3. Tasks description

For legal reason is necessary to update the system with the rates from Banco de México. The exchange rate defined in PF1 and WP1 cannot be used for Mexican Companies. 
This procedure describes:

  • How to get the exchange rate in the website of Banco de México

  • How to input the data in SAP - transaction OB08

  • How to change the information if necessary - transaction OB08

For Mexican companies have the only type of exchange rate to be managed. 

The exchanges rate LMXD should be updated in a daily should be performed every working day at 10 a.m. in Curitiba time, using the rate of the previous working day. 

These process is described in detail in the sections below. 


If the exchange rate and/or the site is unavailable please, contact the CAM - Country Accounting Manager in order to request the support and/or informing that the exchange rate will be update as soon as possible.

3.1. I update the exchange rate - daily

3.1.1. I retrieve the data

Go to Banco de México Portal and SIE - Mercado cambiario.


The rate is retrieved for DOLLAR (USD); EURO (EUR); YUAN (CNY); CANADIAN DOLLAR (CAD) and JAPANESE YEN (JPY) in a daily basis. 

The date used to retrieve the correct exchange rate must be always the previous working day (for this reason the upload must be done at 10 a.m. Curitiba Time).

For instance:

    • 05/23/2022 – the day that must be retrieved the exchange rate;
    • 05/24/2022 – the day of the upload in SAP. 

         


The daily exchange rate of Canadian Dolar (CAD) does not appear in the screen above, to get this information you should enter in the link SIE - Mercado cambiario.


3.1.2. I upload the exchange rate

3.1.2.1. PF1

Access the website: https://www.banxico.org.mx/SieInternet/consultarDirectorioInternetAction.do?accion=consultarCuadro&idCuadro=CF307&sector=6&locale=es


   

Save this print in the TAXAS DIARIAS spreadsheet.

And for USD, load on the current day the rate of the previous day from the DOF column, or the current day from the "PARA PAGOS" column."



Run the transaction OB08 (system PF1) in order to upload to SAP the Exchange Rate.


Click in SELECTION, BY CONTENTS:


Select VALID FROM ( date of day) e EXCHANGE RATE TYPE (LMXD)



When the rates appear, check if they are correct based on the print of the rates extracted from the link mentioned above, insert the currency US$, click on a line as a template and copy (CTRL+Y) on a line as a template , click on NEW ENTRIES and paste (CTRL+C), changing the missing currency and entering its value. If everything is ok, give a PRINT.


Save the report image, and paste it in the TAXAS DIARIAS spreadsheet.


3.1.2.2. WP1

Access the website: https://www.banxico.org.mx/tipcamb/main.do?page=tip&idioma=sp


Run the transaction OB08 (system WP1) in order to upload to SAP the Exchange Rate. 


Click in SELECTION, BY CONTENTS:


Select VALID FROM ( date of day) e EXCHANGE RATE TYPE (LMXD)


Appearing as rates, check if the rates quoted in the link above are correct, enter the CAD currency, click on line as template and copy (CTRL+Y) line as template, click on NEW ENTRIES and paste (CTRL) +C), changing the currency for which it is missing and enter its value. If everything is ok, give a PRINT.


Save the report image, and paste it in the TAXAS DIARIAS spreadsheet.

3.2. I update the exchange rate - monthly

3.2.1. I retrieve the data

The same way, go to SIE - Mercado cambiario and click in "Otras Cotizaciones".


Then, in the column "Pesos por divisa" you may find the tax rate used to update the monthly rate.


For Mexico companies, you only use the LMXD exchange rate type to update both daily and monthly.

3.2.2. I upload the exchange rate

3.2.2.1. PF1

Run the transaction ZRATEMOD (system PF1) in order to upload to SAP the Exchange Rate.
In the transaction insert the following information:

  • "Valid from" – the date that should be insert the rate
  • "From Currency" – the currency, for the Mexican companies must be updated 3 currencies:
  • CHF;
  • IDR;
  • SGD;

Post the exchange rate in the first calendar day of the month.

For example, in January you should post it in the 01.01.2020 the rate for 31.12.2019

 


Press enter.

The system will inform the actual rate. 
After that is necessary just to press  and  . The new rate will be assumed by the system:.

Do the same for CHF and SGD.

3.2.2.3. WP1

Run the transaction ZRATEMOD (system WP1) in order to upload to SAP the Exchange Rate.
In the transaction insert the following information:

  • "Valid from" – the date that should be insert the rate
  • "From Currency" – the currency, for the Mexican companies must be updated 5 currencies:
  • BRL
  • CLP
  • KRW
  • IDR;
  • SGD;

Post the exchange rate in the first calendar day of the month.

For example, in January you should post it in the 01.01.2020 the rate for 31.12.2019

   

Press enter.

The system will inform the actual rate. 
After that is necessary just to press  and  . The new rate will be assumed by the system:.

Do the same for CLP, KRW, IDR, and SGD.
