Data Object Definition

A Quote is a formal proposal to a customer to sell them a product at a given price. Sales and distribution processes and includes details such as customer information, products ordered, quantity, price, and delivery terms. If the customer accepts the offer, they will eventually place a Sales Order.

• Within Solvay, quotes for the majority of GBUs are managed through the One Quote module in Salesforce.com (in either CORE or iCare)
• The exception to this is Composite Materials, which quotes through SAP
• For some businesses, Quotes may not always be used for external communication but may be used internally as a mechanism to update Price Conditions in SAP.
