Check-Ins are the culmination of regular discussions between an Employee and their People Manager or Project Leader. They are performance and development discussions to review ongoing goals, performance, and continuous development. In addition, the People Manager and Employee discuss openly how the Employee delivers against the defined goals and where development actions could increase performance.
Why this Moment Matters
Living Syensqo's Performance Culture means engaging in regular dialogue with each employee about their targets and performance. During these conversations, think about how can the bar be raised. What would help the employee to go beyond and above? For the employee, this is about growing, being recognized, and understanding whether they’re on the right track.
In the spirit of Syensqo's Care & Dare Leadership Commitments, we invite you to find ways to bond closely with your team members, know what is happening with them and support them accordingly. At the same time, you should not shy away from giving honest feedback. While feedback might be difficult to hear at first, given in a constructive way and in the right context, can serve as a necessary and true step towards growth.
How often should Check-Ins occur?
Employees set up individual discussions with their Manager at least once per quarter to define goals, review the relevance of ongoing goals and focus areas in line with the Group strategy.
SNAPSHOT
A Snapshot is the transparent summary and follow-up of every Check-In, prepared by the Manager and captured in the Performance tool in My HR Services. Snapshots are comprehensive overviews of an individual’s performance, performance drivers, behaviors, and career development and potential.
Why this Moment Matters
When prepared properly, the snapshot provides honest, direct feedback to the employee and avoids surprises at the Year End Assessment.
