Hello Everyone,

We agreed last year with the GBU HSE Managers to release the final procedures in two "batches," one in March and one in June.  For June, we are releasing eight procedures, three of which are updates of existing procedures and five of which are new. The procedures are:

• IND-HSE-42:  Site Emergency Planning and Response (New)

• IND-HSE-43 : Mechanical Integrity and Preventive Inspection (New)

• IND-HSE-70 : Chemical Hazard Communication (New)

• IND-HSE-ENV-10 : HSE Waste Management (New)

• IND-HSE-IH-20 : Minimum Requirements Respiratory Protection (New)  

• IND-HSE-PS-03 :  Process safety management system (Update)

• IND-HSE-PS-10 : Process Risk (Update by merging the 3 procedures IND-HSE-PTS-10, IND-HSE-PTS-07, IND-HSE-PTS-08

• IND-HSE-IH-03 Local Exhaust Ventilation (Update of the standard)

Later on the final procedures for the HSE manual will be released : 

• IND-HSE-01 PRO Reporting of Indicators (Update to be released in July)

• IND-HSE-01.01 PRO  Reporting of events (Update  in July)

• IND-HSE-TS-10 “Transport Safety Procedure on the qualification process of transport companies for dangerous goods”. (Update with the elimination of the RS1 process for Transport Safety)

• IND-HSE-TS-02 Transport Emergency Response (New)

The total of 41 documents (procedures/standards/policies) have been suppressed with 15 being eliminated and 26 being converted to guidelines. See the file with all the details on the changes.

At the same time, 4 procedures for product Safety will be distributed via a separate communication, for the GBU product stewardship family. These procedures are :

• IND-HSE-PRAS-02  Solvay Animal Care and Use (Update)

• IND-HSE-PRAS-12 Risk control for use of substances of very high concern (SVHCs) and substances requiring attention (Update)  (With the release of this updated procedure, the IND-HSE-12 on SVHC management is eliminated)

• IND-HSE-PRAS-19 Safety Data Sheet authoring, revision & distribution (Update)

• IND-HSE-PRAS-14 Product Safety Management (PSMP and HCRM) (Update)

NB : PSMS (Product Stewardship Management System has already been issued)

The other procedures for Product Safety will be released later on

• In a few weeks:

• SAEL 

• and two new procedures to be published by end 2019 and beginning 2020:

• Raw Materials and Purchased Chemicals Compliance Check

• Product Safety Governance

Once all procedures are issued, the HSE manual will be comprised of 44 procedure of which are related to Product Safety. 

The figure below shows the procedures that will ultimately make up the HSE Manual.  The procedures we selected to create and/or keep are focused on addressing the minimum requirements necessary to manage major Group risks.  

Your zone HSE manager will organize the on-boarding sessions for  procedures released in June. The self-assessment tools are available in Indocs.
