Hello Everyone,

I would like to thank you for your participation last week in the HSE Coordination meeting.  Overall I think it was a very productive meeting, and we will be issuing the minutes from the meeting in the coming days with the actions we intend to take.

One topic that we briefly discussed at the beginning of the second day was the involvement of the Industrial HSE team if there is a significant process safety event.  As Dr. Ma mentioned during the meeting, most people on a site may never (or at most once) in their career experience a significant process safety event.  While the resources on most our sites are very capable to investigate and take action following such an event, it is important to have an independent person support the investigation and more importantly to have someone who has had some experience with investigating these types of events.  Currently, Industrial HSE must be involved in the investigation and analysis of all High and Catastrophic severity process safety events.  We will be extending this to include our involvement in the investigation of Medium severity process safety events which involve a fire or explosion.  I need your help and support to ensure we are contacted as soon as possible if such an event occurs.
