ALM - What and Why?

Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) is a system of people , tools and processes that supervise a software application from start to Finish. At Syensqo we usually also refer to it as Technical Release Management.

• Process to Plan, coordinate, and control the Release(s) of change(s) or new Features into Production Environment.
• Management of the several stages and activities involved in deploying changes or new features to ensure a smooth and reliable transition.

DevOps - is a bridge between development and operations team, it combines tools and pratices to help things get done faster and easier. DevOps is complementary to the agile framework.

Goal: ensure that software updates or changes are introduced in a controlled and reliable manner, minimizing risks and maximizing the efficiency of the release process. It helps to maintain stability and integrity of the software or system while delivering new functionalities or improvements to users.
