What is SAP BW

Business Warehouse (BW) is the SAP tool to extract reports with data coming from the transactional systems (mainly WP1 & PF1). Users can use Analysis, an excel add-in, to connect to BW and then select a report to launch. The result of the report will directly be displayed in Excel.

Decision makers can make well-founded decisions and identify target-orientated activities on the basis of the analyzed data. Also by using HANA (in-memory technologies), you can enhance the performance of SAP BW. 

What Solvay uses SAP BW for

SAP BW will be acting as a main reporting tool in Solvay.  It will combine the data from various sources , WP1 and PF1, and produce a model which will be used by various teams to generate the reports. These reports are scheduled to update on a daily basis to provide near real time status to the end users. Also the data from BW will be extracted by Talend, GCP and Tableau and pushed to downstream systems.
