Raw material emissions are part of scope 3 and refer to the greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions associated with the extraction, production, processing, and transportation of raw materials used in the chemical company's products. Raw material emissions data can be obtained from different sources: Supplier Data: Solvay suppliers can calculate the amount of CO2 emissions related to the raw materials they provide to Solvay and share these data. External Databases: Use external databases which provide life cycle assessment (LCA) data for various materials and processes. These databases contain pre-calculated emissions factors based on standardized methodologies, allowing to be incorporated further in the PCF calculation.
