Data Custodian :
The Data Custodian is primarily responsible for managing the metadata about the information assets of the organization, to promote standardization and to guarantee the quality of the data in collaboration with the Data Stewards. Metadata is “information that describes various facets of an information asset to improve its usability throughout its life cycle.” Metadata management enables data lineage by providing tracking and transparency of how the data moves and changes across enterprise. Data custodians work closely with data stewards, often providing direct assistance with the diagnostic steps of the data governance processes that require more technical sophistication than data stewards have.
