Data Custodians
Data Custodians are responsible for the safe custody, transport, storage of the data and implementation of business rules. The Data Custodian is primarily responsible for managing the metadata about the information assets of the organization, to promote standardization and to guarantee the quality of the data in collaboration with the Data Stewards.
H/She works closely with the Data Steward to identify data quality root cause analysis (RCA) and remediation plans. Data custodians work closely with data stewards, often providing direct assistance with the diagnostic steps of the data governance processes that require more technical sophistication than data stewards have.
