The European sites of syensqo have to meet the REACH Regulation requiremenst concerning the compliance check of the raw materials uses.
When a raw material is classified as hazardous according to REACH, the supplier must communicate to the syensqo sites an extended SDS (e-SDS) of the substance incorporating an annex including the exposure scenarios. These scenarios list the operating conditions (OC) and risk management measures (RMM) to be adopted when using the substance to minimize the risks to humans and the environment.
The operating conditions and risk management measures have to be verify on site and have to be compared with the recommended scenarios.
An existing procedure provides guidance on how to carry out this verification and the actions to be undertaken following the results. The guidance is presented in the form of several fact sheets on a single page, concisely constructed and describes the process of verification of compliance (what to do, who is responsible for its implementation and how to proceed in practice) :
Fact Sheet N° 1 – What do I need to do when I receive an e-SDS?
Fact Sheet N° 2 – Use and/or conditions of use covered or not?
Fact Sheet N° 3 – Overview of obligations and timelines
Fact Sheet N° 4 – What is scaling?
Fact Sheet N° 5 – e-SDS checking step by step
In the dedicated area (eSDS Compliance documents), the e-SDS Compliance tool (broken link) and the corresponding guidances & presentations (training) are available
