1.1. Reason
* Why is this initiative proposed today?
Google Cloud Platform has announced the end of life for its IoT Core service on 2023/08/16. This service is at the core of the Solvay IoT Hub architecture and must be replaced to ensure the application service continuity after this date. If this project is not completed by the end of life date (2023/08/16), the IoT Hub service will be impacted and the communication and data collection for the Pibox (approximately 100 devices) will be stopped. As a first estimation, 6 months of delay will easily be necessary to perform the migration to an equivalent service. The project should start as soon as possible in 2023. |

IoT Hub is used by 7 GBU, both ECO and SCO and R&I on 36 sites. All IoT Hub users using Pibox and others devices using MQTT are impacted. The site equipped with Lorawan sensors should not be impacted. |

2.0 Scope / Deliverables

The project consists in delivering an equivalent architecture replacing only the IoT Core function without impacting the rest of the IoT Hub architecture and functionality. This can be achieved by building a second cloud service for this function and doing a technical migration for the devices connected.
