> Synthesis of P&I Leadtimes extracted from SAP
P&I Lead Times | Level Required | Proposed SAP Field | Purpose in SAP | SAP Level | Comment |
Catalog LT | Material / Plant | Dedicated new field | Catalog Lead Time from “Order Entry Date” until “Material Availability date | Material / Plant Working days | See dedicated section here Besides P&I, also used in CEM control : Order Date - Material Availability Date >= Catalog Lead Time (Taking into account the SAP plant calendar) |
Plant Replenishment LT | Material / Plant | Total Replenishment Lead Time (TRLT). In SAP technical name is MARC-WZEIT | TRLT is used: > definition of TRLT horizon in MD04 (Planning) | Material / Plant Workdays | Proposal : this SAP field will contain the SHS RLT calculated in the P&I DynaSys solution. |
Production LT | Material / Plant | Work scheduling view : Processing time (MARC-BEARZ) + Base quantity (MARC-BASMG) or if not filled-in MRP view or Work scheduling view : Inhouse production time (MARC-DZEIT) | The Processing time + base quantity from 'Work scheduling view' or the Inhouse production time are used by the MRP (to calculate the Planned Order start/end date for Intermediates / Raw Mat) + Scheduling activities. Attention: > Option 1: 'Processing time' + 'Base quantity': this is the best practice but requires significant time & training to to handle. > Option 2: the 'Inhouse production time' (either from MRP or Work scheduling) is not recommended as it's not based in a 'Base quantity' and can perturbate 'Planning table' of MF50 Planning. We recommend: a) Short term: stock revised 'Production values' in DynaSys P&I b) Medium/long term: feed 'Processing time' + 'Base quantity' in SAP. | Material / Plant Workdays | See dedicated section here |
Procurement LT | Material / Plant | SAP Processing time for purchasing (Workdays) | Time (Plant workdays) that the purchasing department requires to convert a purchase requisition into a purchase order. | Plant x workdays
Material / Plant | SAP Planned delivery time (Calendar days) | Number of calendar days needed to obtain the material or service if it is procured externally. Expected value in SAP depends on type of procurement: 1> For external procurement (purchased from Supplier): The Planned Delivery time should contain the transit time + preparation time of Supplier to prepare the delivery. 2> For Internal procurement (purchased from another Solvay site = InterCo): it should only contain the Transit time. For the ordering plant, this information is helpful to send the information to the supplying plant on time. | Material / Plant Calendar days Could be maintained at different place: - Purchase info Record - MRP2 view | See dedicated section here
GR Processing LT | Material / Plant | GR processing time (MARC-WEBAZ) | Number of workdays required after receiving the material for inspection and placement into storage. Used to calculate the "Material availability date" following stock entries. | Material / Plant Workdays
Administrative Scheduling LT | Material / Plant | No SAP equivalent. It's linked to the time to prepare to review the planning & launch the campaigns, depends more on Scheduling meetings frequency, Prod campaign frequency, frozen horizon MF50. | - | Material / Plant Workdays | No field in SAP available. Will be manually defined in DynaSys, more info in detailed section here. |
For more information about the use of each lead time in the SAP Planning, please consult this B2B documentation: B2B - Training material - lead time definitions

P&I solution takes the Lead times coming from SAP until the Material Availability Date.
All that happens afterward (Loading + Pick Pack + Transit time to customer), in gray below, is not part of DynaSys P&I scope and is carried outside the tool.
> SAP Lead times transferred to P&I
Key information to be taken into account:
Production Scheduling: No information in SAP related to the Scheduling LT -> Will be defined in the P&I solution.
It's considered in SHS RLT calculation but not like an 'addition'. More information in 'Scheduling LT' part.
Inter/Intra Company Scheduling:
- Planning time fence at receiving plant to be consistent with stockholding strategy and replenishment LT
