Currently the role that can view that voting button are:

  1. Ideas manager,
  2. Local Admin,
  3. Super Administrator,
  4. Support Admin,

  5. Campaign Managers (challenge admin),

  6. Tenancy admins

     

GotIt currently provide three voting type, which are Thumbs Up, Thumbs Up/Down, and Star Rating.
I do know that some of the tenant may not want to expose the star rating to author, which they worry those who vote may not give accurate voting if author can know their vote.
At the mean while, we are still checking with vendor whether is it can add the logic to view this button as configurable, which can let challenge admin to decide whether to allow public to view voting information. 
Let see what is the reply from vendor and we can give an update

Author of the idea, who is normal user, is not able to view Voting button
