Before we begin:
- In gitlab, code repositories are termed as projects and all projects must belong to a gitlab group.
- A gitlab group has one group owner
Trigger SSO on gitlab for account creation
- Access the gitlab instance and click on the Solvay SSO login button
- Authenticate your SSO credentials
- You will be able to enter gitlab, however you will not be able to see any projects or groups because you have not been associated with any groups at the moment.
After your access to gitlab is established
- If there is an existing project that you are supposed to join, then you need to contact the existing gitlab group's owner to add your user account into the gitlab group
- If you wish to create a brand new project under a new gitlab group, then you need to send a request via freshdesk for approval. In this case, you will be the gitlab group's owner. Please include on the FD ticket a writeup on who the group represents and what are the projects that the group will be responsible for.
