Overview
When it comes to spaces, you can use 2 different layouts depending on your needs.
The 2 layouts are mentioned below :
| Master Page layout | What is it ? On this page, you are able to not only list articles on the side but also create a "dashboard" with tiles (see this page "Create a tile" for more information). However you are not able to add spotlights. How it looks like ?

Step-By-Step
STEP 1 - Edit a space
As for most of the components of the space, when you want to modify the layout, you will have to click on the Edit tab on your space.
STEP 2 - Select the layout
You are now directed to the space editing page.
You can select the layout you want to use at the top of this page.
Then do not forget to click on Save at the bottom of the page.
