Google BigQuery is the main Datalake for analytics at Solvay. It is used to store data in bulk in order to apply analytics on it. It is mostly used to store data :
- That is Native from Internet: From the "Software As A Service" solutions used by Solvay (SAAS - Ex : Freshdesk) but also webscrapping, opendata...
- That is "Big" and requires Big Data systems to analyse it (We then can use Google Big Data tools for that).
What's new?
The use of Google BigQuery for analytics started in April 2017 with a first project to collect Freshdesk data.
