How to Upload a forecast to Webdp
Step 1: Make Sure You Have Permissions from ION
- Before you begin, make sure you have the required securities (permissions) from ION to access the system. If you're unsure, contact your admin for help. It is a group setting security they have to enable.
Step 2: Go to the Forecasting Process Folder
- Once you're logged in to Webdp, navigate to the Forecasting Process folder.
- Click on "Forecast Upload" to open the upload section.
Step 3: Check Your Excel File Format
- Ensure that your Excel file has the following columns:
- Location
- Product (PGL code)
- Package (short code)
- Customer Ship-To Code
- Period Date (Make sure you have one line for each month. For example, E2 should be 1/1/25, E3 should be 2/1/25, and so on.)
- Qty (Quantity)
- UoM (Unit of Measure)
- Time Series
- Error (leave blank)
- Error Description (leave blank)
(View screenshot if you need a visual)
Step 4: Upload the Excel File
- At the top of the screen, click on the "Import Excel File" button.
- Select your Excel file from your computer and upload it.
When you get to the next pop up you have a few options:
-Insert only adds new records to the table
-Update will only change values on non key columns (not recommended)
-Insert or update is a combination of both
99% of the time you would only need "insert" optionIf you select "Clear existing data" you should only use Insert.
You would only use Update if you know for sure there are no new CSKUs in the excel file and you just want to change the quantities.
Step 5: Validate Your Data
- After uploading, you have two options:
- Validate Data: This option will check all the cells in your file for errors. Webdp will highlight any mistakes, allowing you to fix them before proceeding.
- Once your data is validated with no errors, move to the next step.
Step 6: Process and Publish the Data
- Once you confirm there are no errors, click on the "Process Data" button. This will publish the data into Webdp, making it available for all users to see.
If you do not have these two buttons, contact ION to ensure the security setting is enabled. Sometimes when a hotfix gets pushed out onto webdp securities get overwritten/reset.
