View Configuration
Web Demand Planning views are configured in Advanced Data Management ('ADM') using the following ADM configuration views:
Forecast Views
Forecast Views is the main view used to define each Web Demand Planning view. It is located in the Administration / Demand Planning / Web View Configuration folder by default.
Forecast Views
Field Description View Name Specifies the name of the view which will be displayed in the Forecasting folder. Attribute Set Defines the attribute hierarchy to use for the view. The attribute hierarchy is defined in the Attribute Sets view. Data Set Defines the time series to be included in the view. The time series are defined in the Data Column Sets view. Filter Defines the attribute filter(s), which limits the data included in the view. The filters are defined in the View Filters view. Period Type Specifies the time period aggregation level for the view. Typically, the view can be specified includes Months, Quarters, or Years. For weekly models, if selecting an aggregate time bucket for the view, the weekly periods will be mapped based on the start date of the week. Totals By Specifies what time of time period total to include in the view. By default, no time period totals are included. UoM Specifies the unit of measure for quantity and revenue data in the view. Currency Specifies the currency for price and revenue data in the view. Security Specifies the security group that is permitted to access the view. If (All) is selected, all users will have permission to the view. Period Offset Controls what period will be scrolled to when the view is opened. The view can be configured to open at the start of the horizon of the view, at the current period, or at an offset from the current period. The Attribute Sets view is used to define an attribute hierarchy. Attribute Sets can be shared across multiple forecast views. If an Attribute Set is modified, all forecast views referencing the Attribute Set will be impacted.
Attribute Sets
Field Description Attribute Set Specifies the name of the attribute set. To copy an attribute set, select an existing set and click the Copy Attribute Set button. This will copy the detailed definition and create a new set with the existing label appended with "- Copy".
The Attribute Hierarchy Details linked view is used to define the attribute hierarchy of an attribute set.
Attribute Hierarchy Details
Field Description Attribute Specifies the attribute to be included in the hierarchy for the attribute set. Group Code (Optional) Used to define a material group code if the material classifications attribute is selected. Attribute Level Specifies the level in the hierarchy the attribute will be included. Sequence Specifies the sequence the attribute will be included in the specified hierarchy level. Example: A view with Product / Package in the first level and Customer in the second level would have
- Product: Hierarchy Level = 1; Sequence = 1
- Package: Hierarchy Level = 1; Sequence = 2
- Customer: Hierarchy Level = 2; Sequence = 1
The Data Column Sets view is used to define the time series that are included in a view. Data Column Sets can be shared across multiple forecast views. If a Data Column Set is modified, all forecast views referencing the Data Column Set will be impacted.
Data Column Sets
Field Description Data Column Set Specifies the name of the data column set. To copy a data hierarchy set, select an existing set and click the Copy Data Hierarchy button. This will copy the detailed definition and create a new set with the existing label appended with "- Copy".
The Data Hierarchy Details linked view is used to define the time series included in a data column set.
Data Hierarchy Details
Field Description Label The label for the time series that will show up in the view. Column Type Type of data field:
- Forecast Value - Display an individual time series specified in the Time Series field.
- Forecast Value with MAPE - Display an individual time series along with a calulation of the Mean Absolute Percent Error (MAPE) for the forecast specified in the Time Series field compared to the history specified in the Supporting Time Series field for the number of periods specified. The MAPE forecast accuracy calculation is displayed in a separate column after the View Data field.
- Sum - Adds the time series specified in the Time Series and Supporting Time Series fields
- Over Forecast - Calculates the amount over forecast of the time series specified in the Time Series and Supporting Time Series fields.
- Under Forecast - Calculates the amount under forecast of the time series specified in the Time Series and Supporting Time Series fields.
- Difference - Subtracts the time series specified in the Supporting Time Series field from the Time Series field.
- Total Year Estimate - Calculates the total demand in the year by adding the time series specified in the Time Series field up to the current period to the time series specified in the Supporting Time Series field for the rest of the year.
- Percent Error - Calculates the percent error of the time series specified in the Time Series field versus the time series in the Supporting Time Series field.
- Error Forecast Remaining - Subtracts the selected Time Series and Supporting Time Series from the Reference Time Series. For example, the current month shipments and open orders can be subtracted from the forecast to calculated the remaining forecast for the current month.
- Custom Computed Columns - Any custom computed column functions configured will also be displayed in this list.
Time Series (1) Specifies the time series to display or to include in the calculated field. Supporting Time Series (2) Specifies a supporting time series to include in a calculated field. This will be N/A for data types where not applicable. Reference Time Series (3) Specifies an additional reference time series to use for some calculated fields. This will be N/A for data types where not applicable. Relative/Absolute Specifies whether the periods in the view are defined based on relative or absolute periods. When Relative is selected, the periods will roll forward when the date moves from one month to another. Start Period Specifies the start period for the data. For Relative, the start period will be +/- the current period. For Absolute, the start period will be a specific period. Horizon Specifies the horizon to display for the data. Precision Specifies the precision to display for the data. Sequence Specifies the sequence the data will appear in the view. Include YTD Specifies whether to include a year to date total in the view for the data. Selecting Include current period or Exclude current period determines whether the current period will be included or not in the year to date sum. Include QTD Specifies whether to include a quarter to date total in the view for the data. Selecting Include current period or Exclude current period determines whether the current period will be included or not in the quarter to date sum. Filters are used to limit the data included in a view. View Filters can be shared across multiple forecast views. If a View Filter is modified, all forecast views referencing the View Filter will be impacted.
View Filters

If unchecked the results of the specified filter criteria will be excluded from the view. For example if the filter criteria is PEL2% in the product name field, checking Include in Filter will result in all products starting with 'PEL2' being included in the view. If the field is unchecked, all products other than those starting with 'PEL2' will be included in the view. Value Free-form text can be entered as the filter criteria. A % sign acts as a wild-card.
