In the Semicon industry high demand for high purity of systems trasporting with ultrapure water is currently met by Solef. Solef 1010 is employed to produce pipes while Solef 1008 is used to make valves, elbows, and fittings by injection molding.

The standard SEMI F57 dictates the level of impurities accepted for systems in contact with ultrapure water: the impurities are evaluated by leach out tests at 85°C lasting for 2 weeks, both for pellets and for final items. The new SEMI F57++ requires more strict values of impurities which means reducing TOC and fluorides extractable from pellets and pipes.

Ketaspire KT 820 NL is a new material proposed for these applications. It meets the required level of purity.
