Principle

Impact tests are short-term tests, which provide information on the failure behaviour of materials subjected to rapid loads. The specimen is held on a fixture and hit by a swinging hammer, with the recording of the energy absorbed during fracture.

  • Charpy, instrumented and non-instrumented.
  • Izod
  • Unnotched and notched (Type A) specimens.
  • ISO hammers 
  • Equipment at room temperature. Specimens can be conditioned from -40 to +100 °C.
