Principle

Permeation of liquids and gases through polymer films.

Permeation process in dense polymers is driven by solubility and diffusion and can be divided in three steps: sorption of the permeant on the surface of the film; diffusion of the permeant from the high concentration side of the film to the low concentration side; desorption of the permeant from the low concentration surface.

Capabilities

  • Gas permeability up to 120°C and 2 bar pressure according to ISO15105-1 (method A)
  • Liquid permeability with cup method according to ISO 6179.
  • Permeability to salts, acids or bases dissolved in water up to 80°C.
