Version is a way to easily identified identify any update of the content of the document to new data or an a regulation update or any other changes. SDS version update need to be is defined by the SDS Writer as a major or a minor version.

Some key changes in the safety data sheet should

triggered

  • Regarding Section 15, SDS writers must evaluate if the changes are important enough to be marked as Major.


If it is a major update the reason MUST be described in the section 16 of the SDS.


Generation of a Major version will be identified by an increment of the version number by an integer, e.g.: from 2.3 to 3.0

The impact in case of a Major version of the SDS, is that it will trigger for Subsequent SDS shipping in SAP-EHS.

Minor

With a minor update of the SDS, the document is updated, but this change will not automatically trigger a new SDS shipping for the customers.


Resume of the meaning of the number of the version:


V 1.0   => First version of the document

V 2.3 to V 2.4=> Update of the document with a minor version

V 2.3 to V 3.0=> Update of the document with a Major version

In the mass creation report, I have it is needed to choose whether the document will be a minor or major modification, implying a minor/major version of the SDS.
