Mission

The Microscopy, Solution and Colloids Lab is focused on the morphological characterization and on the characterization of polymers in solutions and dispersions.

In Microscopy, the morphology, size, texture, local composition are critical parameters in material science. Those measurements are performed at every steps of the development of new products: synthesis, processing, commercial development.
In Solution and Colloid chemistry, the molecular weights, diameters of particles, viscosity, density and colloidal stability are the main properties studied by the team during a polymer development/production process.

Both for experimental and production products, the above properties are crucial because they influence the final performances of the polymers.

The main customers of Microscopy, Solution and Colloids Lab are:
- R&I (Research and Innovation)
- CTD (Customer Technical Development)
- Production Plants

To guarantee the validity of the results, the laboratory participates in quarterly global cross-check with other Syensqo labs on Inherent Viscosity, both on aromatic and fluorinated polymers.
