AppSheet - How to request deployment?

Guide for filling the request form

In this section you can get help and information for filling the request deployment form.

Initial information

• Title of the request

• Please write in a sentence the subject of your application so it can be easily identified

• Sponsor

• Write here the name of the person who is interested that this application is a success. You can think on the manager of the team who will get benefits of using it. This person has to be aware that you are writing his/her name here

• Which site or GBU would be the owner of the App?

• This application normally serves as support for a site, process or GBU. Please write it here.

• Do you have already the assistance of an Appsheet expert? Who?

• You may have already contacted some expert on Appsheet who is assisting you with the process. If it's like that, please write the name of the person.

• Please select the category that better fits your application

• It's possible that you are creating an app based on some other Appsheet app that is already in production. You can select here which is the best option to describe your  situation.

About your application

• Description

• Write here a summary of what do you expect from the solution and how it fits on your processes

• How many users would use the app once that it's fully deployed?

• Which is the peak of users that will use the app? This info is needed to know the amount of licenses have to be provisioned

• How many of them are already using other Appsheet apps?

• Which quantity of users from previous question are already using another Appsheet app? This is important because normally these users already are using a license.

• Does the user need to be authenticated and identified?

• Applications have two ways of working: Anonymous (all users are unidentified and therefore equal, you can not apply any security in any way) or authenticated (all users have to be identified with a Google account, and you can apply security and filters based on user)

• Does this application need to be accessible by users outside of Solvay?

• In case that the users are external to Solvay, they would need to have a Google Account in order to be identified. This could include customers, providers, general public, etc.

About the creation of the app

• Who is going to review if the application covers the expectations?

• This person would review the application while it's being developed, suggest changes and eventually confirm that the application is ready in terms of functionalities to be shared in production with final users.

• Who is going to create, modify and customize the Appsheet app?

• This person would need to learn about the Appsheet tool, how to use it and modify the application in coordination with the requirements of the user (previous question). Leave it in blank if you don't know yet.

• For which date would you like to have the first version of the app available for users?

• Write here the date that you would like to have the application fully deployed in production

• For how many time do you expect that this app will be in use?

• Some applications can be created with the idea of using during a short period of time, a conference, special dates, etc. Indicate it in this field

• Is there any plan of gradual deployment or pilot phase?

• In case that the application is going to be deployed to users in phases, please describe it here.

Appsheet functionalities. Which of these functionalities do you expect to use?

• Read Google Spreadsheet Info

• Indicate if the content displayed to users is going to be stored in an Spreadsheet in Google Drive

• Write info into Google Spreadsheets.

• Indicate if you expect that your users will fill information in the Google Spreadsheet

• Use Web Interface for accessing the app

• Indicate if you are going to share the web link to the application so users can access via browser on their computers

• Use Mobile Interface for accessing the app

• Indicate if users are going to use the mobile app from their mobiles or tablets

• Use camera of devices for taking pictures

• Indicate if you expect to use the camera of the device for attaching pictures on the application

• Offline access to the data

• Indicate if you count with the idea of using your app from locations where network connection could be unstable and is necessary that the app is able of managing off line access

• Use GPS of the device

• Indicate if your app is going to use the GPS of the device for storing locations

• Notifications (mails, workflows, etc.)

• Indicate if your app is going to send notifications to users via mails or messages based on actions from the users

• Charts

• Indicate if you expect to use the application for building graphs and charts that would help to users to visualize data

• Read QR Codes or Barcodes

• Indicate if you expect that users will use the camera of the device for reading QR Codes or barcodes for filling information in the application

• Is it going to connect to other systems apart of Google Spreadsheets?

• Indicate if your application is expected to read or write information from other systems out of Google Spreadsheets (Smartsheet, SAP, etc.)

Review process

Once that you fill the request you will get a message with the acknowledge of the information and informing you if the application has been validated by automatic process or if it's needed more info or discussion. If you have any comment you can reply to that mail.

In case of scalation during this process (problems filling the info, validation, etc.) you can contact Appsheet.isdeployment@solvay.com

After this process your request will be taken into account for license provisioning and for deployment of the application. To support the application we will ask you to transfer the ownership of the application to a technical account.
