Taiwan’s Formosa Petrochemical Corp (FPCC) will restart its 160,000 tonne/year butadiene (BD) unit at its No 2 cracker this weekend after shutting it unexpectedly on 26 August, a company source said.
The 160,000 tonne/year BD unit at the 1.03m No 2 cracker was shut due to technical issues, the source added.
FPCC has three BD units, with a total capacity of 450,00 tonnes/year at its three crackers at Mailiao, Taiwan.
