Thailand’s PTT Asahi Chemical (PTTAC) shut its 70,000 tonne/year methyl methacrylate (MMA) plant in Map Ta Phut on 15 December because of mechanical issues, company sources said on Wednesday.
The shutdown of the plant is expected to last at least for a month, they added.
PTTAC is a joint venture of Thai oil and gas giant PTT, and Japanese firms Asahi Kasei Chemicals and Marubeni.
