Analysing Data
Add rows and columns
3 ways to add rows/columns into the table :
- Click on to show the right Analysis Panel
- Go to the Analysis Tab
- Select the wanted dimension and right click on it
- Select Add to Rows or Add to Columns
- Click on to show the right Analysis Panel
- Go to the Analysis Tab
- Select the wanted dimension and right click on it
- Drag & drop the dimension to the rows or column panel
- Click on to show the right Analysis Panel
- Go to the Analysis Tab
- Select the wanted dimension and right click on it
- Drag & drop the dimension from the right panel directly into the cross table and drop it where you want to add it. A red line shows where it will be added.
Remove rows and columns
3 ways to remove rows/columns into the table :
In the Analysis window, right click on the dimension and select Remove.
Drag and drop from the "Rows" or "Columns" panels to the left panel.
Drag and drop from the crosstable to the Analysis window
Swap/Replace a dimension by another
Solution 1: Select the Dimension in the Display Panel, drag and drop to the column you need to switch.
Solution 2: Select the dimension in the crosstab, drag and drop to the dimension you need to switch
Change order of dimensions
Solution 1: Select the Dimension in the Display Panel, drag and drop before the dimension you need to change.
Solution 2: Select the Dimension, drag and drop before the column you need to change.
Solution 3: Right click on the Dimension in the display panel, select "Move In front of" and select the second dimension.
Filtering data
Filter data by Member via right click
From the Crosstab :
- Right click to a Dimension
- Select « Filter By Member »
From the design panel :
Filter data via Background Filter
Background Filter allows filtering on the Dimension that is not in the Crosstab
- In the Design Panel select a Dimension, Right click and select « ADD to Filter »
- Make your selection and press OK
Filtering Individual selections or range selections
You can filter via Individual selections. In this case you can select/unselect individually each value :
You can select via "Range Selection". In this case you can use multiple filters :
Removing a Filter
Solution 1: Select the dimension header, right click and Select All Members
Solution 2: In the Analysis Tab, select the dimension, right click and Select All Members.
Filter by Measure
- Select the Dimension.
- Click the « Filter » button and select « Filter by Measure ».
- Select the measure, set your filter, you can Add multiple filter, then press OK .
If you choose a Dimension instead of a measure before filtering by measure, the filter is applied directly on the level of the selected dimension
The following options define on witch level the filter is applied :
- All Dimensions Independantly
If you select this option, the filter is applied to all dimensions in the analysis, from the outermost to the most detailed one. For example, in an analysis with three dimensions in columns A, B and C, the filter is first applied to the dimension in column A, then to the dimension in column B and finally to the dimension in column C.
- Most Detailed Dimension in Rows
- Most Detailed Dimension in Columns
Remove a filter by Measure
Solution 1: Select the dimension, right click and Select Filter by Measure, select « Reset »
Solution 2: Select the dimension, Filter and Filter by Measure, then select « Reset »
Formatting
Multiple Choice Format
You can choose between several formats :

Multiple Choice Format
You can choose for which members the conditional formatting should take place. You can apply for a Member, Total, or Both.

Concert to Formula
Text that is normally not displayed because it occurs several times in a row or column, is now repeated in each cell automatically to produce valid formulas
