Steps to publish a product on selected channel (e.g. solvay.com).

After this is completed, the product will be visible the day after.


These are the steps to publish a product on the Solvay.com product catalog

If (1) mandatory information are filled

if (2) publication channels is "solvay.com"

And your product is not obsolete (status obsolete)

It will be visible on Solvay.com the day after

Step-By-Step

Step 1 - Find the product to publish

Use the navigation tool


Step 2 - Edit the product (Check out)

Edit Product by Clicking "Check Out"


Step 3 - Fill Mandatory information

All attributes for public visibility are found in the Marketing Tab.
If mandatory for solvay.com, it is marked by a "*" at the end.

List Mandatory Information for publication channel solvay.com (Public)

Publication Channel

Select "Internet Solvay.com (Public)"

Display Name (Public)*

This is how the name will be displayed on Solvay.com. It must be populated to be visible on Solvay.com. By default we can use the SAP Name.

Teaser (Public)*

This is the 160 characters incl space used to describe the product in the Solvay.com product finder result page. By default we can take the first characters of the Description.

Description (Public)*

This is the full product description displayed on the product catalog page Solvay.com. This section is html & can contained special text formating. It was copied from the previous Global Product Catalog (GPC). For SpP, this is the description for TDS.

chemicalCategory > chemicalFamily > chemicalProduct (Public)*

Define the chemical categorization of the product for Solvay.com Product Finder (chemical Category filter). Multiple selection possible. List is values managed by Stragegy Solvay Team. Values copied from GPC.

Markets > Segments > Applications (Public)*

Define the Application of the product for Solvay.com Product Finder. First batch of values copied from GPC. Multiple selection possible

Brand Name (Public)*

This is brand associated to the product. Will be used by solvay.com web visitors for filtering products by Brands

Region (Public)*

Inform on Solvay.com Product Catalog of availability of product. Values copied from GPC

Sample request ?

Are samples request on the specific product catalog page on solvay.com allowed? By defaut it set as YES (identified as Inheritance)

Quote request?

Are quote request on the specific product catalog page on solvay.com allowed? By defaut it set as YES (identified as inheritance)

Automatic Steps - Change in Product State

If one of the mandatory (see above) product attribute (for publication on solvay.com) is missing, the state will stay "SAP Active". The product will NOT be visible on Solvay.com

If all (see above) product attribute (for publication on solvay.com) re completed, the state will change to "Published".
The product will become visible on Solvay.com the next day

Step 4- Unpublished a product from Solvay.com

I want to remove a product from a certain publication channel.
Go to Publication Channel & remove Internet Solvay.com (Public).
The state of the product will return to SAP Active (and no longer published)



FAQ Publication Channels

If a product is obsolete, what do I have to do ?

If the product is marked as obsolete (state obsolete), it will be not be sent to any external channels, irrespective of the value in publication channels
