Before deleting a space make sure that we are exporting it and storing it on your local computer or in a shared drive. So that if needed we can restore the space using the XML back up later.

To export a space in XML :

  1. Go to the space and choose Space tools > Content Tools from the bottom of the sidebar


  2. Then Choose Content Tools > Export option

3. Select the format as XML and click on " Next"

4. Then choose "Full Export (includes pages not visible to you) "option and click on export

5. Once it is exported completely. click on "Download here" option to download the XML backup of the space.

6. Once it is downloaded save it somewhere on your local computer or in a shared drive


To delete a space in confluence :

  1. Go to the space and choose Space tools > Overview from the bottom of the sidebar

  2. Then Choose Overview > Delete space option and then click on "OK"

  3. Once it is deleted completely we will get the below screen
