Problem

We cannot save any change to the Inv.Target from within TPS. The save button is greyed out.

It seems that this is only limited to one location (AQS).

Probably related, the safety stock for the above product / package / location is 0 until July 2023, when it jumps to 3000 kg (See below). There is no time phased safety stock for this product.

And finally, ADM shows that the safety stock is supposed to be 3000 kg. Inconsistent with what the TPS production/location InvTar details shows (0 kg).

Solution

The Inv Target save button if disabled if either of these conditions are met:

The user does not have save permissions.Likely not the case here, because other SKUs can be saved.

There is a TimePhaseValue entry for the SKU in question.

The code does not check just for Safety Stock, it checks to see if there any time phased entries for the SKU.

This is a protective feature that prevents an entire series of time effective entries from inadvertently being wiped out.

Check the ADM view called “Time Effective Inventory Targets” for this SKU and send a screenshot.

This view is found in the ADM Supply Chain Policies folder> Inventory Targets and Preferences>then click on Time Effective Inventory Targets:

We were able to see the disabled “Save Changes” button for a SKU in our in-house demo database because the function returned 2 records for “Inventory target”. All “Combine Equivalent “ hammer settings were turned off.
