Occupational Health GATE : an open intranet portal

The OH GATE (*) is a portal giving quick, easy access to all the necessary information to enable onsite medical healthcare teams to provide tailored medical supervision:

  • developed in 2015, it is an intranet application aimed at all stakeholders on the ground responsible for healthcare
  • information hosted in other environments or databases is displayed in the Gate via summary screens, making for a user‑friendly browsing experience
  • recommended medical examinations (including e.g. blood and urine tests for exposure monitoring), and information on Syensqo's products can right now be viewed in all our Sites by the medical, HR or HSE teams

What type of information can be found ?

How is it innovative and where does the added value lie ?

The plus point of the OH Gate is that it was designed to meet very practical needs. It will help to ensure the implementation of our health standards.

In particular, in contrast to other sources (namely the internet), it provides access to selective summary information on the toxicological impact of chemicals and on selected medical supervision protocols, focused on substances, products and risks which are specific to Syensqo’s operations.

Three types of key information are at disposal of local medical teams

Medical protocols : a library of medical protocols guides doctors in their choice of the type of medical investigation needed for a particular risk type/position
Data on substances : a summary of relevant information on national and international classifications and other regulatory information, exposure limits, physicochemical
properties of substances, pathologies associated with overexposure, Human biometrology, etc.
Data on exposures : a summary of the health risks each worker is exposed to, specifically those which require special medical supervision in view of working
conditions on the ground.  This information will be extracted from SOCRATES, the industrial health database, in which risk assessments carried out using Group methods are recorded.
Access to individual information on exposures is restricted to the persons in charge of the medical surveillance organization and realization at the Site.
