  • What is Isenção de Horário (IHT) and how it is calculated?

Isenção de Horário de Trabalho (IHT) is a fixed percentage of the base salary. It is usually 20% of the employee's base salary and is agreed between the manager and the employee. This amount is added to the base salary and the total will then be subject to IRS and Social Security deductions. IHT is a payment to compensate any overtime needed on regular working days, so employees with IHT are not entitled to overtime payment on regular working days. If you are being paid IHT, you are exempt from work schedule, so you are not subject to flextime, and can not use it. Bank holidays or mandatory rest days are an exception to this rule and any overtime done on these days will be paid according to the overtime payment rules.

  • What are the conditions for working in part-time?

All requests to work in part-time are analized individually. Firstly, make a request to your Process Leader and to the HR Manager refering the reason for your request. When and if your request is approved, your salary will be reduced proportionally to the work schedule, and you and the company will have to sign an amendment to your work contract.
