Environment (Env)

On 26th February 2020, SOLVAY launched an ambitious sustainability plan for the next 10 years.

There are 10 targets which are structured under three pillars: Climate, Resources and Better Life.

For the environment, the targets are (2018 being the baseline):

1. Reduction by 25% of the freshwater withdrawal by 2030

2. Reduction by 30% of the non-recoverable Industrial waste (landfilled or incinerated without energy recovery)

There are additional internal targets (not to be communicated externally):

3. Stopping by 2030 deposits in landfills of Hazardous Industrial Waste when technically feasible
4. Eliminate SVHC (Substances of Very High Concern) :

• • by 99% for the black SVHC

  • by 90% for red SVHC (excluding CO emissions)
