Industrial HSE ways of working : Domain Networks ensure HSE is collaborative

The Industrial Function is making networks a fundamental feature of the HSE organization.

The following networks will ensure consistency and best practice sharing across the zones and sites.

The Product Safety Network animates different expertise sub-networks to activate the entire Product Safety community worldwide in strong collaboration with other functions and Product Stewards in the GBUs.

The other HSE Networks involve and link experts across the zones and GBU organizations.

Collaborative way of working
  • Led by a Domain Network Animator, the Networks work collaboratively with zones and GBUs on specific topics.
  • Appointed by the Corporate HSE Leadership Team, every Network takes a global approach to developing tools and delivering support to sites.
  • Networks typically exchange information on their specific domain, share best practices, and develop guidelines and tips to support sites and GBUs, in line with the Group’s HSE requirements.
GBUs - Function participation is key
  • The GBUs can enable their HSE practitioners to take part in the networks and orient practices and decisions earlier in the process.
  • These networks rely heavily on the participation of zone experts. This significantly reinforces the bottom-up approach as zone organizations work directly with sites.

How to go further in a network?
  • Contact the network animator (see the names in the tab above)
  • Read the information in the Indocs pages (links in the tabs above)
  • Share information and feedback with any member of the network

We recognize that everyone involved in the Networks has a regular job ,” says James Daly, Global HSE Director. “ But we see the added value this way of working brings to all of us. It is, amongst others, about trans-regions cross-fertilization, collaboration, and consistency. The Animator sets an agenda and workload which is aligned with the objectives and needs of the network’s members .”
