Raw Materials & Purchased Chemicals Team's mission
Raw Materials are fundamental part of Syensqo's responsibility and compliance. Our vision for Syensqo is to be recognized as a Responsible Group applying social responsibility in Raw Materials and Purchased Chemicals, and ensuring their safe use. Our mission is to provide expertise and support to the GBUs, ensure guidelines and tools exist within Syensqo to support Raw Material stewardship and regulatory compliance, to achieve understandable and harmonized Syensqo raw material management. We believe this could be reached by creating <one stop shop> inside SAP EHS for raw material composition and regulatory information |

Raw Material ProcessRaw Material information & compliance management processes are built around:
Raw Material management processes are divided into Core & Opt-in processes to be able to support Syensqo group needs as well as different GBU requirements |
|---|
General InformationAll raw material creation, update and REACH & S-SVHC compliance control requests are managed by central Raw Materials & Purchased Chemicals. |
REACH and REACH-likeRaw Materials & Purchased Chemicals team is responsible for REACH/UK REACH compliance check and control (via the blocking/unblocking process) for all raw materials used is production at Syensqo EU and UK plants, respectively, with the aim to ensure Syensqo marketed product compliance. |
S-SVHCS-SVHC (Syensqo - Substance of Very High Concern) monitoring for raw materials and communication of those to GBUs is part of Raw Materials & Purchased Chemicals team's responsibilities with the aim to ensure that the risk associated with the use of such raw materials / substances can be addressed by GBUs. BW S-SVHC reports for raw materials are available to GBUs. |
Other RegulationsEmerging changes in global regulatory requirements are pushing us towards having raw material information even more transparent and available to GBUs. Availability of such information allows GBUs to assess compliance for their marketed products and support Syensqo customers in a more timely manner. Raw Material stewardship is offered to GBUs as support for their raw material & finished product compliance. This includes the raw material approval process with the supplier material compliance check against different worldwide regulations and information registration. |
Raw Materials SAP EHSCentral governance of raw material data in SAP EHS is done by using dedicated SAP objects under raw material authorization group (ZZ_BU_00), data model, property trees, document storage possibilities and reporting tools |
|---|
Raw Mat Data ModelNew raw material data model allows the creation of new specification type REAL_SUB_E which is dedicated for the storage of supplier specific information and documents Multiple REAL_SUB_Es are grouped under one generic PROD_COM that represents raw material chemical type and in case of production raw materials, as well provides us a link to the supply chain by using logistic material number assignment. |
Raw Mat PropertiesSupplier specific record REAL_SUB_E information can be viewed and stored using ZRM_TREE 'Raw Material Property Tree'. REAL_SUB_Es are then assigned to appropriate generic PROD_COMs via Supplier Listing class available in Z_PC_PS 'PROD_COM view for Product Steward' property tree that is as well used for PROD_COM level information storage for Raw Mats. |
Raw Mat DocumentsAll raw material documentation is stored on the level of REAL_SUB_E and can be accessed by all SAP EHS users, if only supplier SDS and/or REACH compliance statement is necessary then for certain GBUs as well using Raw Material Sinequa tool In general, raw material documentation that is stored is subdivided into 2 categories:
|
Raw Mat ToolsTo prepare raw material compliance or data overviews and ensure obsolescence process, there are multiple tools available:
