Composition concept

Component type

Component type is a mandatory field used during :

• Substance Volume Tracking calculation (notably REACh) and associated rules

• Inventory status rule (exception of impurities for some inventories)

The component types IMPURITY, SOLVENT, STABILIZER or ADDITIVE can be used in any type of product and composition (except composition for confidentiality :

• If a product is a regulatory substance, it is composed of one constituent " Z_CONST" and its "IMPURITIES"

• If a product is a mixture / preparation , it is composed of one or several "COMPONENTS" and its "IMPURITIES"

• Component types Z_BIOC_DIR/Z_BIOC_OTH were specifically created for the REACh rules for Biocide products

• The component type Z_UNDEF is used for unknown ingredients of a product or a raw material

Exception Values

It is additional information regarding a pure substance in the composition when the percentage is not known. There are 4 possibilities:

01 Unknown

03 Trace element

05 Yes, the pure substance is present (but the % is not known)

06 No, the pure substance is not present

Note : This is information stored in the header data of the specification PRCO.

Note that ZE exeption value are used only in Composition for confidentiality
