Skill Activation
Introduction
Have you ever wanted to give your career a boost by learning new skills outside of your current role? From a Skills Based Organization standpoint, working on projects to develop skills means taking on short-term or temporary assignments to gain experience, learn new skills, and improve existing ones. This powerful approach allows employees to work on a variety of projects that would not be possible if they only rely on projects within the same job scope.
In this page:
- Explorers can consult information about projects they may apply for, which align with their interests, availability, and skills to improve.
- Project Leaders can publish their projects to all explorers.
Learning through project-based assignments
One way to activate and learn a new skill is to participate in a project experience.
This page lists the Projects (or ‘Gigs’) available in Syensqo, allowing Project Leaders to post and share opportunities. It is designed for anyone interested and available to join a project, with the goal of activating specific skills.
Be sure to review the guidelines first.
RULES OF ENGAGEMENT
- Project opportunities are completely voluntary and are designed to provide mutual benefit to the project leader and the individual participant in terms of skill development.
- During project participation, your direct Manager does not change. He/she will still be responsible for conducting regular check-ins, your annual performance review, compensation review, etc
